January 29, 2000 The Times of India IMO launches B2B site IMO Communications Pvt. Ltd on Friday formally launched what it says is the country's first comprehensive business-to-business (B2B) infomediary, providing online content and e-commerce enabled services. www.indiamarkets.com offers a range of services for the business community including supplier listings, auctions for surplus inventory, used machinery and industrial assets, IMO Managing Director Rohan Ajila told reporters here. He said the site provided a platform for business-to-business intermediation and represented over 130 diverse product categories. The site, he said, had an extensive repository of service relevant to B2B e-commerce and content customised to the manufacturer's needs. "We will be a comprehensive one-stop shop for transaction enabling content, addressing the information needs of specific vertical communities," he said. The company, Mr. Ajila said, proposed to invest $ 10 million in setting up nationwide sales and customer service network, brand building and business development in the short term. |
