SSI policy in three months

The government on Monday said that a comprehensive policy for the small scale industries (SSI) will be announce in the next three months to accelerate growth in the SSI sector.

Launching the nationwide network of e-business centers of indiamarkets.com, Ms. Vasundhara Raje, Minister of State for SSI and Agro and Rural Industries said SSI sector should make use of the growing information technology to remain updated on the latest information in the sector.

Speaking on the occasion the Managing Director of indiamarkets.com, Rohan Ajila, said the small and medium enterprises sector would be the main beneficiaries of the new portal aimed at enabling them to have access to e-business across the geographical boundaries.

“The e-business center network would be spread across 70 locations by the end of the year and these would act as a platform for training and familiarising industrial units with e-business,” he said.
