Financial Express indiamarkets.com inks pact with
Ariba
indiamarkets.com, the B2B horizontal e-commerce marketplace and Ariba Inc, the B2B e-commerce platform and network service provider will be working together for the e-enablement of local suppliers to connect to Ariba buyers worldwide. As part of the initiative, indiamarkets will provide an India-centric supplier pool for the Ariba Commerce Services Network (Ariba CSN). Ariba CSN allows for transparent collaboration between buyers and suppliers. Suppliers need to convert their catalog content into an electronic format in order to be accessible on the Ariba CSN and to transact electronically with buyers worldwide. As a part of Ariba's supplier enablement process, indiamarkets will leverage its network of eBusiness centers across the country to reach out and work with suppliers to take their e-business initiatives forward. The indiamakets eBusiness centers located in supplier belts will help suppliers with all issues related to e-enablement. Once enabled, the indiamarkets suppliers can transact business with buyers across the world. With the increase in the adoption of e-procurement, the indiamarkets supplier database will emerge as a major source of ready India suppliers capable of doing business on the Net. Mr M Ganesh Managing Director, South
Asia, Ariba India said "The supplier is the key constituent member of a
business cycle. Through this arrangement any supplier who wants to get
enabled in the e-world can now take help of indiamarkets, whom Ariba is
training and providing the methodology required in the global and local
supplier base " Mr Rohan Ajila Managing Director indiamarkets.com said
"our perspective is to enable domestic suppliers to participate in the
global e-commerce environment and our ability here is in the infrastructure
that is our e-business centers to which we plan to add 70 more by the end
of this year. With our domain expertise across 29 different verticals we
plan to replicate the same for the large Indian corporates using this technology".
Additionally indiamarkets will use the Ariba Dynamic Trade solution to
add auctions, reverse auctions, request for quotation (RFQ) and negotiation
functionality to its marketplace.
