…in alliance with Dun & Bradstreet

Business-to-business (B2B) infomediary indiamarkets.com and Dun & Bradstreet India (D&B) have allied to provide value added services to indiamarkets’ visitors. D&B is an international provider of B&B credit, marketing and purchase information and receivables management services.

D&B India will become a service alliance of indiamarkets to assess the business credentials and risk profile of its participants. The two have signed a revenue sharing arrangement.

An indiamarkets statement said participants on its website would be assigned risk scores based on financial and non-financial parameters using D&B India’s indicative risk score (IRS) model.

“Very often our registered buyers would like to know whether the supplier on our website is genuine and what the supplier’s credentials are. The Dun & Bradstreet service is the first step in our effort to consistently provide our buyers access to quality suppliers and our registered users quality business interaction,” said Rohan Ajila, managing director IMO Communications, the company behind indiamarkets.com.

D&B will provide the D&B D-U-N-S Number to participants. The number is a distinctive nine-digit identification sequence which links to information products and services originating exclusively from D&B.

The number is an internationally recognized common company identifier in electronic data interface (EDI) and global electronic commerce transactions.

The package has been introduced for the first time by D&B in India through indiamarket’s web site. The alliance is also expected to popularize D&B’s products and services with the huge small and medium enterprises segment, which constitute indiamarkets.com visitors.

The service will be available on request to all registered buyers on indiamarkets.com who would like to assess the credentials of prospective buyers.
