December 6, 2000 indiamarkets in e-enterprise drive indiamarkets, one of India’s leading B2B online market place, has launched two new products as part of its drive to catalyse the adoption of the Net as a market place. Launched as the e-enterprise package, the package comprises— the e-buy and the e-sell solutions. The e-buy solution is to help integrate business processes and documentation to enable efficiencies of procurement by training and developing vendors. The e-sell solution is expected to create efficiencies in selling and distribution process. The e-buy and e-sell solutions have a fixed price of Rs 50,000 each and a variable cost for implementation and transaction. In addition, the 30 e-Business centres, which the company has set up across the country, will facilitate training and implementation of vendors and distributors. This will enable the Indian manufacturing community to use the indiamarkets platform for buying and selling on the Net. The e-buy solution is a complete purchase automation tool delivering strategic benefits in procurement costs, linking vendors, showcasing buying requirements, generating more vendor leads and leading to a possible reduction in product costs. “The e-enterprise package is the only package which has understood and incorporated the requirements of the Indian business in terms of processes and documentation. It also includes vendor training and development through the e-Business centres. The uniqueness of this package is that it is simple, practical and workable,” said Rohan Ajila, managing director, indiamarkets. The e-enterprise package, regardless of the size of one’s business or the industry, offers a total business solution, which has the capability of independently addressing the buy or the sell process, and ensures that it permeates all the way down the value chain, thus taking indiamarkets to the next level of the complete marketplace. indiamarkets also has a strong tie-up with partners like Dun & Bradstreet to rate vendors and buyers on their ability todeliver quality products thereby increasing confidence in Internet transactions. “The pricing on Dun & Bradstreet ranges from Rs 500 – Rs 1500 while that of the other service partners varies on a case-to-case basis,” Ajila added. The e-sell solution helps integrate distributors nationally thereby reducing inventory costs, avoiding lost sales due to poor planning and dispatch of materials and achieving considerable saving in administrative costs. It also offers sellers, predominantly small and medium enterprises a business catalogue wherein they can showcase their products and services enabling them to have a web presence in the form of a storefront. The catalogue covers four main aspects
of business like company profile, product gallery, sales organisation and
their USP.
