It is to your vehicle what Viagra is to mankind. PowerMax, the brown pill to enter the pollution control equipment market, enhances the performance of your engine and keeps the fuel going for many an extra mile. And like the blue wonderdrug that revolutionised male healthcare across the world, PowerMax promises a major breakthrough to a cheaper, cleaner transport system and thus a purer world. Eco-consciousness is the most politically correct word in the global lexicon today. No industry, individual or government worth the name would like to be caught dead, lacking in the awareness of pollution or the will and the means to dispel it. But the implementation? That's another story altogether. The cost and the hassle involved in making one's unit conform to eco-friendly standards is enough to put off the toughest environmentalist. But what if pollution control marries cost economy? Now that makes perfect business sense. And because more than 75 per cent of the pollution in environment is due to the means of transport, the cleaning job can begin there. That's exactly what United One Pvt Ltd has set out to do. Transport Pollution Solutions - TPS. The term says it all. And that indeed is the name of the group that has brought in PowerMax, a range of products armed with technology that increases performance and economy of engines, while reducing the toxic levels of the air we breathe. PowerMax comes in the form of a potion and a pill which when dropped into the combustion chamber of your car or two-wheeler, cleans up the injectors, carburettors and essentially the entire fuel system, promoting complete fuel combustion and increasing fuel efficiency. At the India launch of the TLC product in Bangalore, P Mugunthe, Director, South Asia, United One Pvt Ltd, said he had decided to explore India at the behest of the Prime Minister who had addressed the GOPIO (Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin) with an appeal to revitalise investments in India. Mugunthe, a Malaysian of Indian origin, responded to the call by setting shop in India. Why Karnataka? "We are in Bangalore due to the proactive response that we received from the Karnataka Government, particularly KSIIDC, to conduct demonstrations of our products on BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) vehicles," he told media persons. The reports of the tests conducted on the State transport buses showed that the pollution emission levels have been drastically reduced by over 70 per cent, he added. Mugunthe further said that thanks to Bangalore's friendly investment climate (in more ways than one), he had decided to shift his regional office from the present one at Chennai to this city. In fact, TLC has decided to set up a manufacturing unit in India within ten to fifteen months, that wil cater to the local market as well as the exports sector. TLC Engine Care Systems, which is headquartered in Perth, Australia, manufactures hi-tech proprietory pollution control machinery with the support of Shell Motor Oil company. Its MD, Tim Johnston said, "By using TLC products, one would not only have massive emission reduction, which helps save the environment, but also gain in fuel savings and reduce engine maintenance costs." Added Mrs Mugunthe, managing partner: "It works wonders on the vehicle. The product speaks for itself. I have been using it in my own car and believe me, it's ages since I gave my car for servicing." The TLC flagship has three products:
