New Delhi, January 18, 2001 Fagor Automation S Coop, a Spanish company, is planning to launch a high end CNC (8070) in India, during the second half of this year. Fagor-8070, which is a PC-compatible CNC with a Pentium microprocessor, offers good processing speed with a facility to use a wide range of PC applications. This product offers a high degree of customisation and high-speed machining. The configuration of Fagor-8070 is based on open architecture. The central unit of the machine is combined with a flat 12-inch TFT monitor with high quality image in a small system. The jog panel can be installed anywhere on the machine according to the operator's needs. It comes with a feed-rate override switch and a complete alphanumeric keyboard provided with specific keys for jogging the axes. The remote modules can be stacked together and combined for best configuration. This product will find application in mills and machining centers, lathes and turning centers and general-purpose machines. Also, it comes with a conversational editor that eliminates programming knowledge requirement for the operator. The products of the company include Digital Readout Systems, and state-of-the-art CNC Controls and Components. The current range of CNC, which is available with the company is mainly being targeted at the small and medium companies. With this new family, Fagor is trying to get into specialised applications and thereby, into the high-end market. |
